This is a space for my thoughts and research in the arts. I am currently a freelance writer, reader and editor with published work including Phaidon's African Artists: From 1882 to Now (2021). Previously, I was Head of Public Programming and Editor at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair for three years, leaving in December 2021. At 1-54 I managed nine 1-54 Forum programmes in London, Marrakech, Paris and New York; copy-edited five catalogues; and established and produced the inaugural 1-54 Annual Book, which covered the fair's editions in 2020 to 2021. I have an MA in Contemporary African Art and Art Theory from SOAS and a BA in African Studies from the University of Birmingham. British-American, born in Nairobi. Based in Birmingham.
